We got to drive across the new bridge. Pretty nifty.
We even saw the tent they used for the $500k party.
Seeing those speedy Fast Trak lanes can certainly be a pretty convincing argument
for getting Fast Trak.
Growing up, we always knew we were almost home because we would go over the bridge, then we would see the moth ball fleet and then go over those crazy huge bumps in the freeway that were like a roller coaster on 680 by the refinery.
Well, the bridge is new and the crazy bumps are gone (since the fattie flood). And soon the moth ball fleet may be retired to scrap in Texas. I will be glad to know they can be recycled and not pollute the water, but what will our "almost home" landmark be now?
So, it was off to the Indy Races. GO ABC RACING!! Wooo hoooo! It was a fun and exhausting day. Gino fell asleep during the race, so guess those headphone things worked GREAT. He was THRILLED to see Nick & Matt too.
As a side note, the Indy Cars now use "corn" fuel.
Mia was a cutie patootie and stayed awake almost all day. Silly girl was exhausted and finally crashed when we went to get snacks in the hospitality tent. Gino had slept through most of the race, so he was raring to go home and play.Dated 8/28/2007
SONOMA, Calif. Aug. 26, 2007 – Darren Manning drove the ABC Supply Dallara/Honda to a 12th place finish in the Motorola Indy 300 at Infineon Raceway Sunday afternoon with nearly 500 ABC Supply associates and customers in attendance.
Many guests watched the race from the hospitality tent located high above the track with an excellent view of much of the 11-turn course. Guests also had an opportunity to meet driver, Darren Manning, before the race when he stopped by the ABC hospitality to sign autographs and take pictures with the many ABC Supply guests.
In addition to the excitement of the ABC hospitality event, visiting an Indy car race for the first time was rock star Sammy Hagar who watched the race from A.J. Foyt’s pit box. Hagar’s lead guitarist Vic Johnson worked as part of the pit crew on the No. 14 car, which carries associate sponsorship from Hagar’s Cabo Wabo Tequila company. ©2007 ABC Supply Co. Inc.
